P.E. Mission Statement:
"To empower students with the strategies and self-efficacy necessary to promotes the desire to live a healthy and active life-style for all San Mateo-Foster City students."
My name is Coach "Dustin" Mak and I will be leading the physical education program here at College Park Elementary School.
President John F. Kennedy said it best, “Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.” Our program prepares students to develop and improve their social, emotional, and physical well being. Students are developing skills during a crucial point; what they learn here will be carried on throughout their lives!
Teaching physical education to the whole child that is high quality and standard based. It is our goal that every student who enters our physical education class will have a clear understanding of how to live a healthy and happy, while having fun!
Below is a set of classroom rules to ensure student safety and success:
1.) Be Respectful.
To your teacher, fellow classmates, and equipment!
2.) Be Responsible.
Ask for help when needed, make good choices, and be sure to keep moving!
3.) Be Safe.
Stay in proper areas, be mindful of your surroundings, maintain personal space!
For your child's safety, tennis shoes should be worn during physical education class. It is very important to their success and will help prevent any unnecessary accidents.
If there are any health related illnesses, allergies, or special accommodations that your student requires, please notify me as soon as possible.
We also have Coach Lemus and Coach Alaina to teach our students P.E class on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
