What can I expect from the tour?
Tours include a presentation by the principal and classroom visits in both Mandarin and English
How long is the tour?
The tour takes about one hour.
Do both parents/guardians have to attend the tour?
Only one parent/guardian is required to attend.
Can I sign up for more than one tour?
Due to high demand and limited space, please only sign up for one tour.
Can I bring my children?
Visitation Days are for adults only.
During the tour, we will be observing classroom activities and want to minimize distraction.
How many vacancies for Kindergarten do you have?
In order to maintain student-teacher ratios, we maintain three classrooms averaging 24 students in each class.
How old does my child have to be to attend kindergarten?
For the 2018-19 school year, students are eligible to enter Kindergarten if they have reached
5 years of age on or before September 1, 2018.
When do we know about enrollment dates?
As they become available, enrollment dates and deadlines will be provided to tour attendees as well as posted on our website.
We also encourage you to attend the San Mateo-Foster City School District's Kindergarten Information Meetings on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Bayside Performing Arts Center - 2025 Kehoe Avenue, San Mateo. Three sessions will be offered from 9:00-10:30 am, 12:00-1:30 pm and 6:00-7:30 pm.
When will we find out if we are in?
All applications received by the deadline will receive an email confirmation and be entered into the lottery. Once lotteries are run, parents will be notified by email of their child's accepted or waitlisted status. All applications received after the deadline will be placed on a waitlist in the order in which they are received. Waitlisted students will be contacted only if space becomes available. All wait lists expire when the school year begins.
Do you only accept Kindergarten students?
If applying to the College Park language program for grades 1-5, students will need to be assessed to ensure that they will be able to make a successful transition into the program.
Assessments are given in the Spring.
Passing the assessment does not guarantee enrollment. Placement is contingent on number of openings, which is provided by the District to College Park. Notification of placement can be as late as the start of the new school year - as space opens up.
